How Coffey Bros. Moving Pricing Works
Coffey Bros. Moving offers a flat hourly rate based on the season, day of the week, and crew size, with a two-hour minimum. This means your hourly rate is set for your selected moving date and team, while the total cost depends on how long your move takes, subject to the minimum, plus applicable transportation fees and packing materials. Scheduling your move on a weekday can be a budget-friendly option, with lower hourly rates Monday through Thursday than Friday through Sunday. Choosing the right crew size also matters: a larger team costs more per hour but may complete packing, loading, and unloading more efficiently. The size of your home, the amount of furniture, stairs, elevator access, and the distance between your door and the truck can all affect the time needed. Having boxes packed, labeled, and ready before your movers arrive can help keep your move organized and make the most of your booked time.
Our 10-Step Customer Moving Success Plan
With 20 years of experience serving Chicagoland, Coffey Bros. Moving keeps you informed and supported before, during, and after your move.
1. Get a Personalized Estimate
Your Move Coordinator explains your estimate, answers questions, and recommends services. Estimates are non-binding: final costs depend on your inventory, access, packing needs, and readiness. We guarantee we’ll be there for your scheduled move and never intentionally overbook.
2. Get Ready with Simple Guides
After booking, you’ll receive a moving checklist and preparation tips to help you stay organized.
3. Reach Your Move Coordinator
Call, text, or email for answers, inventory updates, service changes, or scheduling help.
4. Share Last-Minute Updates
About 24–48 hours before your move, we’ll send a short survey to check for changes, packing needs, and access issues.
5. Confirm the Details
Your Move Coordinator calls to review addresses, your arrival window, special instructions, and survey answers.
6. Update Your Estimate if Needed
Added furniture or services? We’ll revise your estimate so you understand the expected time and cost before moving day.
7. Walk Through with Your Crew
When your crew arrives, they’ll review your belongings, access, specialty items, and concerns to plan the move.
8. Review Moving-Day Changes
If the walkthrough identifies additional work, your Foreman will explain what’s needed and revise the estimate before moving forward. If you’re uncomfortable with the updated estimate, you’re free to decline service with Coffey Bros. Moving. We’ll always discuss the expected moving cost before any billable work starts.
9. Get Support During Your Move
Our Dispatch team helps answer questions and arrange extra crew, trucks, supplies, or equipment when needed.
10. Get Help After Your Move
Our Customer Service and Claims teams remain available for billing questions, concerns, and claims.
For a pack and move service we also offer free plastic durable containers and blankets to cover your items during the move. But stretch wrap (which is a packing material commonly wrapped around furniture, moving boxes, or pallets) and packing tape costs extra.
